Cry Wolf?

Despite scare tactics from the anti-gun crowd, Oklahoma seems to be doing just fine.
In the beginning, some people thought a wave of shootings by license holders would occur, but those fears have proved to be unfounded, [Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica] Brown said.

"There's very little of that, quite frankly," she said. "Most people don't want to hurt each other."

[....]

"They didn't have confidence in law-abiding citizens like I did, but they do now," said [former state Senator Frank] Shurden, a Democrat from Henryetta. "They claimed that every fender bender would be a shootout."
Says Tulsa police officer Jason Willingham:
"We know people with concealed-carry permits are not the type of people out there committing crimes. Your gang-bangers, armed robbers -- they're not the ones going through the class and paying the fee."
So where are the rivers of blood and vicious running gun battles the anti-gun crowd keeps talking about? You know, where our streets look like something out of a John Woo gun-fu flick or the latest Hollywood action spectacular? All because our citizens are armed?

(If some anti-gunner says, "Well, it's only a matter of time," I'm gonna yark.)
