"Do It For The Children": Another Look

We mentioned the Children's Defense Fund report Protect Children, Not Guns (PDF here) the other day.

I wanted to point out a telling bit of statistic from the report overview
The leading cause of death among Black teens ages 15 to 19 in 2008 and 2009 was gun homicide.
Now I'm going to jump into possibly hazardous territory.

Why?

Why Black teens? Why not White teens?

If we listen to the Gun Control Cultists, teens should be able to get their hands on a gun anywhere, anytime, no problem at all, because guns can be found everywhere, even at your local grocery store.

So why isn't the leading cause of death for White teens the same as for Black teens?

Maybe because there's something else going on besides guns in society?

The leading cause of death among Black teens ages 15 to 19 in 2008 and 2009 was (wishfully) gun homicide (but in reality was engaging in risky and illegal behavior).
